How-To Videos for the
technology classroom

Monday, September 20, 2010

Thanks to Richard Byrne, of Free Technology for Educators, the powerful search and share tool, Apture, is now part of Learn it in 5 and the Digital Classroom Strategies blog.

Apture is a remarkable search bar that remains hidden, until a user scrolls on the site or highlights text. Then, Apture springs into action, as a helpful search and share toolbar appears at the top of the web site.

From there, users can search anything and results from on the web site and from around the web appear magically, in a window that slides from the Apture toolbar, and seemingly embeds itself in the site where the Apture bar resides. So, if you are reading this and you want to learn more about classroom blogging, just highlight the phrase or type it in the Apture toolbar. You'll get articles, videos and pictures about classroom blogging, including links to videos right here at Learn it in 5.

Click the videos tab in the Apture window and you'll see a list of related videos. Click one and it slides seamlessly from the Apture list and hangs effortlessly in the window you're already viewing. Repeat the process with more articles and pictures. Soon, you'll have four or five windows, all in the same place, making your viewing experience better than ever.

Find something you like? Click one of the share buttons on the Apture bar and send it off to your PLN.

We hope Apture improves your experience here at Learn it in 5. Let us know what you think.
